Working Principle
Vacuum drying is the process of heating and drying materials under reduced pressure. The use of a vacuum pump for air and moisture extraction further speeds up the drying process.
Note: If a condenser is used, solvents from the material can be recovered. If the solvent is water, the condenser can be omitted, reducing energy consumption and costs.
The boiling point of the material solution is lowered under vacuum, increasing the heat transfer driving force in the evaporator. This allows for reduced heat exchanger surface area for a given heat load.
The heat source for evaporation can be low-pressure steam or waste heat steam.
Minimal heat loss in the evaporator.
The material can be sterilized before drying, ensuring no impurities are introduced during the process, complying with GMP standards.
As a static vacuum dryer, it preserves the physical form of the dried material without damage.
