The solution, emulsion, suspension liquid or slurry are sprayed into fine beads in the hot air, going down from the top of the drying chamber to the bottom, where water evaporates and the product becomes powder or granular material.
Hot air is induced from the top of the drying tower while material liquid is pumped to the top by a high-pressure pump. Through spray nozzles, the feeding solution transforms into fine beads or small droplets. When these droplets meet high-temperature hot air, water evaporates immediately, drying the material into finished product in a very short time. The product is discharged from the bottom of the drying tower or from the cyclone (depending on configuration).
When hot air contacts the droplets, temperature declines significantly and humidity increases greatly, then being exhausted by the exhaust fan. Fine powder in the air is collected through various separating devices.
Different fine powder separation and recovery devices are available, including cyclone (common type and various combination types), bag filter, cyclone + bag filter, cyclone + wet scrubber, and bag filter + wet scrubber. We select appropriate separation and recovery devices based on product characteristics and customer requirements.
Depending on product features and requirements, we may install secondary drying and cooling systems (such as ZLG vibration fluid bed or pneumatic transportation), formulation systems, powder sieving systems, or dehumidifiers after the spray dryer.
